Come in For an Initial Consult. Our practice was founded by Elizabeth Durovich, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, CEN, a board-certified advanced practice nurse in psychiatry and mental health. Her training includes a robust internship and clinical training at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. She has seen patients of all ages at a clinic in Queens prior to opening up private practice, where she now works alongside our other trained clinicians. She is a graduate of Hunter College with honors, and currently teaches undergraduate psychiatric nursing at the City of University of New York. Other clinical experience includes emergency psychiatry at Children's Hospital at Montefiore as a staff nurse and is a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner for the Mount Sinai Health System. She is a certified emergency nurse and has practiced nursing since 2012. Prior to becoming a registered professional, she volunteered with the Samaritans of New York, a suicide and crisis intervention hotline, and was a rape-crisis advocate with a sexual assault team program at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital.
Our office treats a range of mental health issues and psychiatric disorders in the adult population. We believe that everyone needs a mental health provider and currently offers comprehensive services and values all patient’s input on determining a plan of care and treatment options. We welcome all patients to seek care to address their mental health needs, regardless of severity or complexity. See below for some examples of conditions we treat:
From the founder's experience of both in-patient and out-patient services, she firmly believes in the philosophy of preventing crisis before it occurs, and has created a team who adapts these same beliefs. With the help of a primary care mental health clinician, patients can learn ways how to prevent emotional crisis or be better prepared on how to deal with unusual circumstances. Having a mental health problem is more common than you may think. The World Health Organization has identified that 450 million people are living with a mental health condition and two-thirds never seek help from a professional. It is our pleasure to be able to offer a range of services that includes psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and a holistic approach on gaining control in your life. We recognize the stigma that has been placed against healthcare workers, educators, police officers, firefighters, and others whose main purpose is to help others, realizing that this makes people in these professions more vulnerable to mental health problems because of the nature of their work. It is our pleasure to welcome those who may think all is lost when they start to see the warning signs of needing help. |
Our philosophy combines the caring aspect of nursing and the professionalism of a clinician.
